Nurcan Taylan (TUR):
“I was very well prepared for this competition and I knew I’d have good
results. My goal now is to win the 2003 World Championships and the 2004
gold medal in the Athens Olympics. The junior world record I broke today
was not very difficult. I think the organisation of this competition is
excellent and I think of Greeks as my friends.”

Dragneva (BUL): “I’m very satisfied by my appearance, having
achieved my best result in two years. I think that what I’ve achieved
today is my top distinction in my 12-year career. This was my first
appearance in the 53 kg. category, but I will now return to 48 kg.”

Munteanu (ROM): “I’m very happy to have won my first medals in a
major event. Today was my lucky day, as I managed to do well in such a
strong competition. I believe that these Championships are very
professionally organized and everything works so smoothly.”
